The second edition of the “Himmtak Ma’ana” (Show Your Zeal with Us) program, organized by the Qatar Diabetes Association (QDA), a member of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science, and Community Development, has come to a close. The program drew a large audience who learned about diabetes and methods of type 2 diabetes prevention.
The three-week program began on July 24 and included five educational, sports, and recreational activities to raise diabetes awareness. The activities also included competitions among five groups of association volunteers. All the activities were planned and carried out under the supervision and support of the association in a bid to boost communication between the association and its volunteers and to benefit from their expertise and efforts in raising awareness about diabetes. All the activities were sponsored by Dolphin Energy Limited.
Speaking on the sidelines of the program, QDA Executive Director Abdulla al-Hamaq said the education to protect tomorrow will be the theme of the second edition of the World Diabetes Day (2021-2023) campaign, and therefore most of our activities focus on highlighting improving access to diabetes education and raising awareness of it and how to prevent type 2 diabetes.”
Al-Hamaq expressed happiness over the large turnout and directed energy toward the execution of a variety of activities that serve society and the country’s interests and help to raise citizens’ and residents’ awareness. He also emphasized that the association will continue to offer instruction, technical know-how, and all other necessities for the accomplishment and continuance of its next efforts. Al-Hamaq also expressed its congratulations to the “Walk of Life” program team, which took first place in the competition thanks to its excellent concept, inventive execution, and robust and impactful presence.
