Learn all you require to prepare for your visit!
Umm Bab Beach
Also known as Palm Tree Beach for its clusters of palm trees, Umm Bab Beach offers a secluded, serene paradise with clean, clear waters perfect for swimming! It’s a little over an hour’s drive from Doha and is worth the trip.
The sand can be quite rocky on the shallow end, so it is best to wear slippers when taking a dip.
The beach is a popular campsite for residents, offering a beautiful sea view sunset.
Palm tree clusters
What makes Umm Bab Beach unique is that palm trees and shrubs grow right by the beach, making it a great landscape for photos!
Tiny seashells
Right at the beach’s coast, you’ll find loads of tiny seashells washed up on the shore. They come in varying shapes, sizes, patterns, and colours!
They can be quite sharp, so be careful when walking barefoot!
How to get to Umm Bab Beach?
There are two routes to Umm Bab Beach: Dukhan Highway and Salwa Road.
If you are planning to travel during the evening for overnight camping, we suggest you take the Dukhan Highway, as this route has streetlights.
The Salwa Road route is much more direct, but it does not have streetlights, so we recommend using it only in the morning or afternoon.
Bonus: Grazing camels
On your way back to Doha, taking the Salwa route, you may spot camels of different colours grazing. It’s such a fantastic way to end your beach trip.
