Will Egypt’s Mo Salah attend the World Cup in Qatar?

After his country Egypt failed to qualify, football superstar Mo Salah claimed he may still go to the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year, even if he isn’t playing.

Salah congratulated Qatar for hosting the first FIFA World Cup to be held in the Arab world in an interview with beIN Sports that has yet to be broadcast.

“I am delighted that the World Cup will be held in an Arab nation for the first time, and it is possible to be in Qatar throughout the competition. Additionally, Qatar will have the support of the entire Arab world, and Salah predicted that the World Cup would be memorable.

Senegal defeated Egypt 3-1 on penalties in the African World Cup qualifying match in March, heartbreaking Egyptian fans.

The Egyptians were stopped from competing in what would have been their fourth World Cup appearance by Sadio Mané’s team.

Salah has remained upbeat about attending the 2022 World Cup in Qatar despite the disappointing defeat because he thinks supporters would find it to be an exciting event.

During the tournament, all regional and domestic football leagues will be suspended to allow participants to join their national teams.

Salah’s comments were made shortly after the Egyptian Football Association declared it will appeal the decision on the replay of the World Cup qualifying match between Egypt and Senegal.

Egypt criticized the Senegal match as unfair and said that the loss of the national team was in large part due to lasers being pointed at members of its side.

It is exceedingly unlikely that a rematch between the two teams would be scheduled with less than 100 days until the winter World Cup.

On November 20, in Qatar, the quadrennial phenomenon that will feature 32 nations competing for the FIFA World Cup trophy gets underway.
