In light of the dire humanitarian situation and the impending famine in the Gaza Strip, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) applauded the diplomatic efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar, the United States of America, and the Arab Republic of Egypt to put an end to the aggression in Gaza, free all hostages, and broaden the scope of aid and make it easier for it to reach civilians.

This was contained in a resolution that the UNSC adopted on Monday, March 25, 2024. The resolution was brought forth by non-permanent members and called for an immediate ceasefire to be observed during Ramadan in the Gaza Strip.
