Sudan and Bosnia teams play in Street Child World Cup
As part of its Rofaqa initiative, the Sports for Development and Peace program, and in conjunction with Street Child United and the Qatar Fund for Development, Qatar Charity (QC) will compete in the Street Child World Cup 2022 alongside the Sudan and Bosnia and Herzegovina teams.
In order to provide street-connected children a voice for change, the Street Child World Cup 2022, an event held in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation (QF), began on Saturday at Education City.
Bosnia and Sudan are among the teams in the first group.
The Sudanese and Bosnian teams have made qualitative contributions to events accompanying the tournament, which included an arts festival, where they painted the flag of their countries in an artistic and humanitarian atmosphere. They also helped prepared a conference to advocate for children’s rights and support young people who face harsh social conditions.
The captain of the Sudan team, Adnan Abdel Hakim, said they are participating with a group of orphaned children sponsored by QC in Sudan, and explained that they have received training and are confident of winning and achieving honourable results in the event.
Added he, “They have received our whole support at Qatar Charity to enable them to participate to the fullest extent possible in this wonderful event. We wish them success and victory.”
