Riyadh hosts official FIFA Fan Festival to celebrate region’s first World Cup
Firsts for everything! Saudi Arabia is kicking off its first-ever official FIFA Fan Festival in Riyadh to jump on football celebrations for the region’s first-ever World cup.
Held at the Prince Faisal bin Fahad Olympic Complex venue, the festival will have a stadium-style seating and can hold 3,500 spectators for live broadcasts on a massive, cutting-edge screen.
A variety of entertainment options, such as musical performances by regional musicians, will also be available for thousands of fans to enjoy.
The Saudi Ministry of Sports, the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, and the Coca-Cola Company have all collaborated to create the much-exciting International FIFA Fan Festival in Riyadh.
The first taste of regional World Cup fever has already taken on football fans this week.
The iconic trophy landed in the kingdom for a two-day tour as part of a larger journey around the world before returning to Qatar for the kick-off on Sunday,.
World Cup champion David Villa of Spain was also given a warm VIP welcome at the exclusive in event in Diriyah.
“We’re incredibly excited to partner with Coca-Cola to bring the electric atmosphere of the FIFA World Cup directly to football fans in Riyadh,” said FIFA Chief Business Officer Romy Gai.
“This exciting event will bring together the best of soccer, music, and culture, delivering exceptional experiences for fans outside of Qatar.”
As it prepares to participate in its sixth FIFA World Cup, Saudi Arabia is preparing to support its national team.
There will be 15 zones overall in Riyadh Season 2022, with one solely reserved for the football competition.
