Qatar’s embassies continue various events to promote FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
The State of Qatar’s diplomatic missions kept on with their numerous overseas promotions for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 promotional campaign was organized by the Qatari Embassy in Algeria. President Abdelmadjid Tebboune was briefed on Qatar’s preparations to host the important international athletic event by H E Abdelaziz Ali Al Naama at the headquarters of the Algerian Presidency, where the campaign was launched.
The embassy conducted more than 10 exhibitions as part of the campaign in hotels, retail malls, and squares that were significant to the Algerian state in Algiers and Oran, in addition to three participations in association with Qatari and Algerian government entities.
During the events, the Ambassador of Qatar spoke to the Algerian and international media, participants and visitors, about Qatar’s preparations to host the World Cup, and the importance of football’s role in peoples’ lives as the embassy is currently preparing for further events and exhibitions to promote the tournament.
In Seoul, the Embassy of Qatar to the Republic of Korea participated in the 15th Arab Culture Festival, which highlighted the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Under the auspices of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC), the festival dedicated an entire pavilion to the tournament. The pavilion is organized annually by the Korea-Arab Friendship Association and the Korea International Trade Association under the auspices of the Korean Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The pavilion displayed detailed information in Korean about the World Cup Qatar 2022 stadiums, the host cities and the tournament program, as well as the tourist attractions in Qatar.
The Ambassador of Qatar to Korea H E Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Hamar gave a welcoming speech at the festival, highlighting Qatar’s efforts to organize the tournament.
The pavilion was visited by their Excellencies the ambassadors of Arab countries and heads of diplomatic missions whose teams qualified for the tournament, and it received distinguished media coverage from the Korean media.
Visited by thousands of Koreans and other visitors, the Arab Culture Festival is one of the most important activities through which the Korean people learn about Arab culture and heritage.
In this context, the embassy organized a football tournament, in cooperation with the Organization of Francophone Countries in Korea, within the framework of promoting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Diplomats and employees of foreign missions of the Organization of Francophone States participated in the tournament, and the Ambassador awarded prizes to the winning teams at the end of the tournament.
In Kathmandu, the Ambassador of Qatar to Nepal, H E Yousuf bin Mohamed Al Hail, held a ceremony to mark the start of the countdown to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The ceremony was attended by the Foreign Secretary of Nepal Bharat Raj Paudyal, heads of accredited Arab missions, members of foreign embassies accredited to Nepal, a number of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Sports, Tourism, Culture and Labor, officials of the National Sports Council, the Olympic Committee, the Nepal Football Association and sports stars, along with officials from UN agencies, the private sector and representatives of the media.
In his speech, the Ambassador welcomed the guests of the ceremony and expressed his thanks and appreciation for the cooperation of the Government of Nepal in the field of employment, praising the role of Nepalese workers and their participation in the construction of the infrastructure of Qatar and facilities for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
On the other hand, the Embassy of Qatar to Azerbaijan organized a special pavilion to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, on the sidelines of the charity exhibition organized by the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs in cooperation with the UN offices residing in Azerbaijan, as part of the promotional campaign for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Along with one of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022’s official songs, the promotion featured a visual representation of the World Cup stadiums that would be hosting the competition as well as a chance for the general public to purchase tournament goods at discounted prices with the proceeds going to charitable organizations.
