Qatari embassies abroad hold events to promote FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022
To promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, a number of Qatari diplomatic missions arranged various activities all over the world.
A huge number of officials, MPs, media experts, and athletes attended a reception organized in Berne by the Qatari Embassy to the Swiss Confederation to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Additionally, chiefs of diplomatic missions and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Switzerland, particularly those whose teams will compete in the tournament, as well as representatives of FIFA and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) attended the ceremony.
The Ambassador of Qatar to the Swiss Confederation, H.E. Mohamed bin Jaham Al Kuwari, delivered a speech at the ceremony, stressing the role that football plays in building bridges of communication among different peoples and cultures.
The Qatari Embassy in Turkey also organised a promotional event in Ankara.
The event was attended by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey, Dr. Mehmet Kasapoglu, the Ambassador of Qatar to Turkey, H. E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Jassim Al-Thani, and a number of officials, heads and representatives of the Arab diplomatic corps accredited to Turkey.
The event included various sports and other activities in honor of orphans.
In a speech on the occasion, the Qatari ambassador expressed his pride in Qatar’s hosting of the championship. He said that the tournament is for football fans worldwide and not just Qatar alone.
The ambassador pointed out that Qatar’s hosting of the tournament is the first in the Middle East and promised that the world would see Qatar organisng a distinguished World Cup.
He noted that the activities and events organized by the embassy are part of the promotion of the tournament, inviting the Turkish people to visit Qatar and enjoy attending this historic event.
In order to promote the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Embassy of Qatar in the Philippines also hosted a celebration in the City of Mandaluyong.
Sara Duterte, the vice president and education secretary of the Philippines, Benjamin Abalos Jr., the secretary of the interior and local government, Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al Malki, the ambassador of Qatar to the Philippines, and a big contingent of Mandaluyong citizens were present at the occasion.
Officials made comments and distributed mementos to Mandaluyong schoolchildren at the ceremony. Various musical performances were also given.
