Qatar welcomes appointing UN Special Envoy to combat Islamophobia

The resolution passed by the UN General Assembly denouncing acts of violence against Muslims, urging action against religious intolerance, and establishing a senior UN post tasked with addressing Islamophobia was warmly received by the State of Qatar.

The State of Qatar declared that it is optimistic that this action will help stop the spread of hate speech and Islamophobia around the world.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Saturday reaffirmed the State of Qatar’s support for a comprehensive strategy that tackles the underlying causes of Islamophobia. The statement emphasized the significance of collaborative efforts across all spheres to denounce acts of violence against Muslims and eradicate prejudice in all its manifestations.
