Qatar-India trade volume exceeds QR65bn: Envoy

Liquefied natural gas (LNG), liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and crude oil exports have contributed to the growth of the historical ties between Qatar and India, an official said.

The strong bilateral ties between the two nations have led to increased trade volumes totaling more than $18 billion (QR65 billion), according to India’s ambassador to Qatar, H E Vipul.

At an event held by Madre Integrated Engineering to celebrate its employees at the Annual Business Excellence Awards 2023, the ambassador spoke to the crowd.

Along with other officials and staff, the Indian Ambassador was present at the award function, which was also attended by the Chief Executive Officer of Madre Integrated Engineering, Stijo Sebastian; the Chief Operating Officer, Melvin Mathew; the Chief Strategy Officer, Mohsin Ali; Professor Dr. Raghunath Subramanyam, Head of the Strategy Department at Indian Institute of Management Banglore (IIMB); and the Group General Manager for Masskar Group, Thaha Abdul Kareem.

“We are looking at more investments from Qatar into India,” stated H E Vipul. You have been keeping up with a lot of the news headlines regarding Qatar’s investments in India during the last six to eight months.

The developing partnership between the two countries, which aims to open up many prospects for Indian businesses and the workforce in Qatar, was emphasized by the ambassador.

“The prospects for India-Qatar relations appear promising. We’re growing our economy by about 8% annually, which will also lead to additional chances for investment, trade, and commerce between India and other nations,” he continued.

Ambassador Vipul also complimented the business and its workers for exhibiting a first-rate work ethic. He emphasized that one of the key focuses of his work is human resource management and that Indians continue to make up the majority of the nation’s expat population.

“We are steadfast in adhering to the Sustainable Development Goals outlined by the United Nations, ISO 14001:2015, and closely monitor the regulations and guidelines set forth by COP 28,” stated Mohsin Ali, the company’s chief strategy officer, during the presiding speech. The need for nations to continue to be committed to the Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement was emphasized in the most recent Conference of Parties 28. He said that Madre is making a significant contribution to the local and global reduction of carbon emissions and the mitigation of climate change through this group effort and commitment to sustainability.
