Qatar chairs artificial intelligence session at 48th Arab Labour Conference
The “Technical Committee on Artificial Intelligence and New Work Patterns” at the 48th Arab Labour Conference (ALC), which is taking place in Cairo, was presided over by Qatar on Tuesday.
Mahmoud Abdullah Al Siddiqi, who represents the Ministry of Labor in Qatar’s permanent mission to Geneva, presided over the committee on the country’s behalf.
Qatar was chosen to serve as the committee’s chair due to its successful achievements in the sectors of artificial intelligence and digital transformation, which have significantly improved the working environment.
The team from the Ministry of Labour attended sessions of the Arab Labour Conference committees, including the Finance and Governance committees, in addition to Qatar serving as chair of the technical committee on artificial intelligence and new work patterns.
The vice-chairman of the Membership Accreditation Committee has been chosen as Dr. Abdullah Al Mohannadi, a consultant in the ministry’s office of the Assistant Undersecretary for Labour Affairs.
The Domestic Workers Law of Qatar was recognized for the extensive protection it offers for domestic workers by the Committee for the Implementation of Arab Labor Agreements and Recommendations.
The Qatari delegation, which included representatives from the Ministry of Labor, the Qatar Chamber, and the Qatar Energy Company, attended the opening of the 48th session of the Arab Labor Conference in Cairo on September 18.
