Qatar 2022 buses trial run operations; traffic likely around some stadiums

Traffic around several stadiums is anticipated as FIFA World Cup tournament buses start practicing their routes to and from the stadiums for two days.

Starting today, September 21, the simulation will run until tomorrow, September 22.

Traffic around stadiums is anticipated to be heavy throughout the day beginning on September 21 and continuing through September 22, according to the Qatar 2022 Transport Info and Updates of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy’s official Twitter account.

For today, stadiums with simulation include Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Khalifa International Stadium, Al Thumama Stadium, and Al Bayt Stadium. For tomorrow, simulation will be conducted at Al Janoub Stadium, Stadium 974, Education City Stadium, and Lusail Stadium.

Mowasalat Qatar also shared a glimpse to the large-scale test operations through a short video on social media. The test-drive will involve 2,300 buses and a team of 14,000 workforce which will be monitoring five bus hubs located at Souq Waqif, FIFA Fan Festival, West Bay, Barwa Madinatna, and Barwa Al Janoub.

It will also include services involving 1,552 radios, 306 talk rooms, 500 operational vehicles, real-time GPS tracking onboard cameras and CCTV Live Streaming.

Tournament buses will be among the travel options available during the FIFA World Cup to help fans reach the stadiums and get to other destinations in the country.
