Municipality issues closure notice to restaurant for violations
The Al-Wakra Municipality imposed a seven-day closure order on the Mangal Turkish Restaurant because it was selling unfit food.
The restaurants were shut down administratively by the Ministry of Municipality because they had broken Law No. 8 of 1990’s controls on human food.
The Ministry regularly performs inspections and prosecutes offenders. On their website, they provide the list of infringers as well as the length of the punishment.
A violation will result in criminal culpability, the ministry said. When the closure notice is issued, it is not permitted to open the closed shop or to carry out any activity or maintenance.
You can report food violations by dialing 184, the number for the unified call center.
