Minor opens fire in Finnish school, injuring three: police

Three people were injured when a youngster opened fire at a school in Vantaa, west of Helsinki, Finland, on Tuesday, according to police, who also stated that the perpetrator was in custody.

There are about 800 students and 90 employees at the institution. Students in grades one through nine, or seven to fifteen, are enrolled in the school.

Soon after 10:00 am, police said, “There are people injured in the shooting incident” (0700 GMT).

At 09:08 am, police were called to the area, and they subsequently stated that all of the injured people and the suspect were kids.

Following the incident, the crisis group for the city of Vantaa was triggered, according to local media.

Numerous police officers could be seen at the school in pictures taken at the site.

The public was advised by the police to avoid the area and stay inside.

They issued a statement saying, “Do not open the door to strangers”.
