Ministry of Labour launches e-service for employee secondment requests

According to the Ministry of Labour, a new online tool for employee secondment requests has been introduced (MoL).

The service is a part of the ministry’s digital transformation program, which the MoL claims will speed up processes and transaction completion.

With the new service, requests for full secondments or part-time work outside of usual business hours can now be made, as well as renewed, electronically.

The new tool also enables workers to submit requests for secondment to another business or organization without having to switch their existing employer.

Employees can start working for the new company either full- or part-time when their application has been approved.

The ministry highlighted that the service is subject to permission by the worker’s existing employer and that the company to which they are being seconded must also be fully registered and approved in accordance with the requirements of Labour Law No. 14 of 2004, which is in effect at the time.

Additionally, the institution filing the application must not have violated any labor law regulations.

The secondment period must not be longer than six months and cannot go past the employee’s residency permit’s expiration date.
