Hamad International Airport welcomes Akasa Air’s first international flight
After arriving in Doha from Mumbai, India, Akasa Air became the 47th foreign airline to land at Hamad International Airport (HIA).
The airport posted a photo of its first flight on March 28, 2024, with the caption, “Welcome to Hamad International Airport Akasa Air.”
It went on to say, “With four non-stop flights per week, India’s fastest-growing airline has started operating from Doha to Mumbai.”
Akasa Air is the 47th foreign airline at Hamad International Airport, according to an infographic released by the Civil Aviation Authority on social media regarding this development.
The Indian domestic airline, which has expanded to 20 cities since its start, has made its debut internationally in Qatar.
The airlines will fly nonstop on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday of each week. QP71, the Doha-Mumbai aircraft, is scheduled to take off at 8:40 p.m. local time and land in India at 2:45 a.m. the following day. QP70, the Mumbai-Doha flight, is scheduled to depart at 5:45 p.m. and arrive in Doha at 7:40 p.m.
The airline intends to expand its reach by starting flights to Kuwait, Riyadh, and Jeddah, according to reports in Indian media.
