Hamad International Airport Eid Al Fitr 2024 travel advisory

The Hamad International Airport (DOH) is prepared to offer its travelers a seamless travel experience as Eid Al Fitr 2024 draws near. To guarantee a seamless travel experience, DOH would like to advise its departing guests to check-in online and arrive three hours ahead to their departure.

Self-service check-in & bag-drop

Before heading to border control, travelers can check in, print boarding tickets and bag tags, tag their baggage, and drop them off at the bag drop counters using the airport’s self-service check-in and bag-drop facilities.

E-gates

Citizens and residents can use e-gates to speed up the immigration process, provided they are not traveling with minors under the age of 18. We would like to remind passengers that check-in ends sixty minutes before departure.

Baggage allowance compliance

Airlines will strictly enforce baggage allowance and weight restrictions, thus it is recommended that travelers inquire about baggage policies directly from the airline of their choice. It is best not to travel with oversized or unusually large bags. Passengers at the departure hall have access to a baggage repack facility equipped with luggage weighing machines.

Parking

Travelers are requested to use the designated parking facilities rather than leaving their cars alone at curbside for security reasons.

Security checks

Passengers are asked to make sure they are not carrying any forbidden items, such as aerosols, gels, or liquids, and to place any liquid containers in a clear plastic bag that can be sealed again, with a capacity of no more than 100 milliliters. For X-ray screening, larger electronics than cell phones need to be taken out of bags and put on trays. Hoverboards and other small lithium-battery-powered vehicles are not allowed for transportation. Because it is the busiest time of year for holidays, passengers are also recommended to minimize their pet travel. It is recommended that travelers use the wrapping stations within the terminal to secure their bags.

‘HIAQatar’ mobile app

It is recommended that passengers leaving from DOH download the “HIAQatar” mobile app in order to stay updated, help with the journey’s smoothness by providing real-time information about flight status, baggage claim, and boarding gate directions, in addition to retail and food offers from Qatar Duty Free (QDF). Additionally, Hamad International Airport has implemented cutting-edge digital wayfinding via QR Codes, which are used to offer a user-friendly wayfinding solution at various digital touchpoints that are logically positioned throughout the large terminal of the airport.

To ensure a more enjoyable travel experience, please heed the instructions posted in the airport or seek assistance from staff. The goal of Hamad International Airport is to make sure that travelers have a smooth and enjoyable Eid vacation so they may cherish their time spent with their loved ones.
