Are you up for an adventure?

Located within Fuwairit Beach is also a rocky beach area with rock formations and pebbles covering the sand. It requires a bit of a trek, and the ground is uneven. For those looking for an adventure and a bit of a challenge, you should check out this side of the beach!

Always remember to proceed with caution to ensure safety.

Turtle nesting and hatching site

An amazing fact about Fuwairit Beach is that it’s the nesting and hatching site for the endangered hawksbill sea turtle. Sea turtles make their way to Fuwairit Beach during April, lay their eggs, and baby sea turtle hatchlings emerge in August and return to the sea.

Qatar’s Ministry of Environment and Climate Change has consistently spearheaded initiatives to conserve and protect these endangered creatures. For this reason, a large part of Fuwairit Beach is closed from April to August to ensure that the sea turtle eggs are given the safest environment. However, a designated beach area, past the rocky area, is still free for public visits the whole year round. It’s important to take note of this when planning your visit!

During August, turtle-hatching encounters are offered primarily to families. Visitors can witness a team of environmental conservationists facilitating the hatchlings’ release back to the sea.
