Everything you should know about entering and leaving Qatar during the World Cup
Supporters who have bought tickets must apply for the necessary Hayya card, which functions as a “fan ID” and gives them access to a number of privileges.
According to a senior official who spoke to local Al-Kass TV, entry into Qatar will only be permitted for individuals who have the Hayya card commencing at the beginning of November.
The Haya card will be a requirement for entry into the country beginning at the beginning of this month during the World Cup, and getting a ticket to a World Cup game is one of the most crucial requirements for applying for one, according to Saeed Al-Kuwari, Executive Director of the Hayya platform at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy.
Holders of a Hayya card are permitted to enter and exit Qatar at any time during the event and may stay in Qatar until January 23, 2023.
The official stated that even if a tourist only has a single match ticket and housing is available, the Hayya card is still valid for residency within the State of Qatar for the duration of the competition.
However, this prohibition does not apply to Qatari nationals or residents, who will be free to enter and leave the country as usual throughout the competition.
The necessary Hayya card, which functions as a “fan ID” and enables holders to a number of advantages, including free public transportation on game days, must be obtained after purchasing a ticket.
The precaution will probably prevent a repeat of the unrest that occurred during the Euro 2020 final held at Wembley Stadium in the United Kingdom in July 2021, when an independent study commissioned by the Football Association pointed to a sizable number of ticketless spectators as a “indicating” factor.
The Football Association discovered that the incident in the UK last summer was viewed as a “near miss” of fatalities and a “source of national humiliation.”
