Entry requirements to Qatar as FIFA World Cup fans begin arriving
The FIFA World Cup will begin in less than three weeks, and Qatar has already begun to welcome visitors from around the world as of yesterday, November 1.
The country’s Covid-19 regulations were loosen yesterday, which made it easier for visitors to enter the country.
Before entering Qatar, visitors are no longer need to provide a negative result from a PCR or Rapid Antigen test.
A Covid-19 vaccination certification is also not required to enter Qatar.
Qatar’s Ehteraz application is only mandatory in healthcare facilities.
Preregistering on Ehteraz, the country’s official contact tracing app before travelling to Qatar, has also been scrapped for travelers.
This rule was eased in a cabinet meeting held on October 26, 2022, and took effect yesterday, November 1. As of now, the Ehteraz application is only mandatory for individuals who are entering healthcare facilities.
Mask rules has also been eased and is only required to be worn in health facilities.

However, foreign visitors who arrive in the nation before the game must have a Hayya entrance permit to enter Qatar. These permits have been provided via email to all visitors who have purchased tickets and applied for Hayya cards. This entry authorization cannot be transferred. The Hayya entry permit additionally specifies that it must be printed completely and in high quality on an A4 piece of paper in order to be suitable for scanning.
The Hayya admission permit is an A4-sized document that also includes a QR code and a picture of the fan. The name, nationality, Hayya Card number, valid from, and last entrance date are also included.
