Cameroon Legend Samuel Eto’o Sets Huge Target for Indomitable Lions Ahead of 2022 FIFA World Cup
Former Cameroon striker Samuel Eto’o has charged the Indomitable Lions to fight for the prestigious trophy at the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Cameroon will feature at the global showpiece, which will begin in Qatar on November 18, as they have now qualified for eight editions of the FIFA World Cup finals – 1982, 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2010, 2014, and 2022.
The Central African country got to the quarterfinal of the FIFA World Cup in 1990 before losing 3-2 to the Three Lions of England at the Stadio San Paolo in Italy on July 1.
Eto’o, who is also the president of the Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) took to his Twitter handle to motivate the Indomitable Lions to go all the way and win the World Cup in Qatar.
The former team captain tweeted: “During last week’s General Assembly, we came together to discuss the road ahead for Cameroonian football. We must seize every opportunity, nationally and internationally.
“We’ve made it to the World Cup, not to play extras but to dominate all 7 matches and bring home the trophy.” Nyaho-Tamkloe backs Asamoah Gyan’s World Cup dreams
