After Argentina’s national football team defeated France 4-2 on penalties in the 2022 FIFA World Cup final at the Lusail Stadium on Sunday night, the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani proclaimed Argentina the tournament’s winners.
The Argentine national team members received their gold medals from HH the Amir and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The players of the French national team, the runners-up in the competition, received their silver medals from HH the Amir, HE France’s President Emmanuel Macron, and Infantino.
