The fabulous Al Bayt Stadium takes its inspiration from ‘bayt al sha’ar’ (historical tents used by nomadic people in Qatar and the Gulf region. It is located in Al Khor. Al Bayt Stadium is the second largest stadium after Lusail Stadium. The design gives worthy honour to Qatar’s past and present, while also keeping an eye on its future. The stadium environs include the vast Al Bayt Park, which opened in February 2020. Designed by Dar Al-Handasah, the stadium was inaugurated on the opening day of the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 when it hosted the match between Qatar and Bahrain. Its capacity is 60,000 seats.

The stadium hosted five matches in the FIFA Arab Cup Qatar 2021 including the final on 18th December. In Qatar 2022 World Cup, Al Bayt will stage nine matches up to the semi-finals stage.

This includes the opening match of the tournament and an African match fixture scheduled to hold on

Wednesday November 23, for Group F: Morocco vs Croatia.
