Air India has announced direct flights from three important Indian cities to Doha
On Thursday, Air India announced the launch of 20 additional weekly flights from important Indian cities to Qatar.
The airline stated in a statement that the increased capacity will help meet the increased demand anticipated around the football extravaganza in Qatar slated for November and December 2022.
During this time, flights will connect Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai with Doha. The day of introduction is set for October 30, 2022. In addition, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai will each offer four flights each week, for a total of thirteen flights per week. The airline further stated that new flights will supplement the already-daily flights that fly from Delhi to Doha.
The airline stated in a statement, “The enhanced connection to Qatar follows Air India’s introduction of 24 new flights on its domestic network last month.
The airline continued, “These additional 24 flights featured two new frequencies on each of the routes Delhi-Mumbai, Delhi-Bengaluru, and Mumbai-Chennai in addition to one new frequency on the Mumbai-Bengaluru route.
Additionally, it said that “as more planes return to service, its network connectivity is being strengthened.”
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer of Air India, said this regarding the additional flights to Qatar: “Air India aspires to create strong connection between India and Qatar, bringing in the football extravaganza in this part of the world.”
“Indian football fans are eager to attend the matches taking place in Qatar’s stadiums, where the world’s top players will be competing. Our flight schedule has been prepared to provide a comfortable and seamless trip overall, “added he.
