Customs officials equipped with advanced technology ensure security at Hamad International Airport
By providing all of its customs officers with the newest technology available to detect smuggling and increase efficiency, Qatar has fortified its borders.
Ajab Mansour Alqahtani, Director of Customs at Hamad International Airport under the General Authority of Customs, emphasized in a Qatar Television interview the vital role that cutting-edge technology and the unwavering watchfulness of customs officers play in upholding airport security and preventing the smuggling of suspicious or forbidden materials.
Hamad International Airport, according to Alqahtani, is one of the most technologically sophisticated airports in terms of tools and tracking systems for identifying suspicious goods. These tools are a necessary assistance because they can find forbidden objects no matter how well they are hidden.
He said, “The advanced technology at Hamad International Airport, alongside the vigilance of customs officers, allows us to detect and discover any suspicious or prohibited materials.”
In addition to having access to the newest technology, inspectors receive intensive theoretical and practical training to help them interpret passenger body language and stay up to date on smugglers’ latest techniques.
