In an effort to lower traffic-related fatalities and injuries both domestically and internationally, the State of Qatar and the United Nations Road Safety Fund (UNRSF) have inked a Unified Administrative Agreement.
The State of Qatar becomes a part of a global network of organizations that are addressing significant inadequacies in national road safety systems and joins a global cooperation that strives to minimize road traffic deaths and injuries by joining the Fund.
At the signing ceremony, the Ministry of Transport was represented by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Office in Geneva, Dr. Hind bint Abdulrahman Al Muftah, and the UNRSF was represented by Tatiana Molcean, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe.

At the event, Qatar reiterated its support for road safety by announcing a $450,000 financial donation to the UNRSF.
HE Executive Secretary clarified that the UNRSF’s special responsibility to help government efforts to meet global road safety targets will be supported by Qatar’s kind donation.
Jean Todt, HE UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for Road Safety, expressed his gratitude to Qatar for its financial support of the fund.
