More than 7,000 flights in first week of World Cup Qatar
The first week of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 saw more than 7,000 flights, according to the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA), which also noted that air traffic at both Hamad and Doha International Airports had significantly increased since the start of the competition.
The QCAA announced that numerous Gulf airlines had started running shuttle flights to the State of Qatar. In order to provide spectators of the event with integrated air transportation, airlines from Arab nations and the rest of the world improve their services to Doha.
The QACC affirmed that several international airlines, including German Lufthansa, Air France, Finnair, and KLM, in addition to airlines from South America and Africa, have commenced operating regular and charter flights to Qatar, which has led to a noticeable operational intensity between Qatar and the rest of the world.
The statement indicated that the development of air transport in the State of Qatar continues with the activation of the Doha Flight Information Region (FIR), which increased capacity and air routes arriving to and departing from Qatar to achieve more streamlined air movements and a greater guarantee of safety.
