FIFA Arab Cup final to be most anticipated attraction of QND 2021
The Qatar National Day, which commemorates a substantial portion of Qatar’s rich history, is by no means an ordinary day in the nation. Everyone should not miss the impending big celebration of Qatar National Day 2021 on December 18.

Officials on December 12 also confirmed that over 500,000 match tickets have been sold so far with more projected for the finals.
The Arab Cup which is a prelude of the next year’s World Cup has entered the knockout stage, with a total of 24 matches being played in the group stage.
All the visiting delegations are relishing their experience in the tournament, which is being hosted in six of the eight World Cup venues – Al Bayt, Al Thumama, Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Stadium 974, Education City and Al Janoub stadiums.

While, the Organising Committee of Qatar National Day (QND) has said that this year’s activities will be held at several locations, including Al Wakrah Old Souq, Aspire Park, Al Rami Sports Club and Qatar Foundation enabling citizens and expatriates to participate in them.

Qatar Foundation is hosting the first performing arts festival, D’reesha, until December 17 in Education City, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Qatar National Day, and Daam Fund, showcasing a variety of local talent. Reflecting Qatar Foundation’s diverse environment, D’reesha encompasses different focus areas – including research, education, technology, and science and features performances ranging from theater, visual arts, and music, to workshops, interactive dining experiences, and storytelling sessions.
Showcasing and celebrating the local culture, heritage, and language, D’reesha reflects Qatar’s diverse and inclusive environment. And, serving as an opportunity for the whole community to explore their curiosity, creativity, and individuality, it helps to connect like-minded individuals, increase intercultural dialogue, and build a sustainable performing arts culture in Qatar.
The ongoing Qatar Balloon Festival and this year’s Katara Traditional Dhow Festival, which highlights Qatar’s ancestral maritime traditions, will be open for visitors until December 18.
Music, lights, and giant fireworks will be along Doha Corniche on December 18.
Public will be treated to eight interactive installations, musical water show and the largest ever monumental LED installation at the Corniche from Al Masrah Park to Pearl Monument until December 19.
To celebrate Qatar National Day 2021, Doha Film Institute will present a selection of compelling shorts made by filmmakers who are proud to call Qatar home. The programme this year features some internationally shown and award-winning documentaries and narratives.
The Made in Qatar program on Thursday, December 16 at 7pm at Lusail Drive in Cinema will include Border, Fever Dream, There Were People, Don’t Get Too Comfortable, A Lens Under Water, Atlal, When Beirut was Beirut, Olayan and Virtual Voice.
Al Wakrah Old Souq will host activities and competitions, including the folk games, which will be held until December 18. The folk games such as ‘Sad o Rad’, ‘Bar o Bahr’ and ‘Keram’ will bring the spirit of participation and competition among children.
Aspire Park will also host a number of events, including activities and competitions, including ‘Al Muqattar’ event, until December 18, during which visitors are received to exchange conversations.
They will be introduced to Qatari customs and traditions like how to prepare and serve Arabic coffee, in addition to offering a range of other activities, such as storytelling for visitors, playing the rabab, the popular puzzle competition (Al Rama’a), and the etiquette of the Majlis.
Qatar National Day activities of Al Rami Sports Club, includes shooting championship for professionals, in addition to the establishment of another championship.
Also activities of the National Falcon Day Championship will be organised by Qatar Al Gannas Society with the support of the Organizing Committee for the National Day Celebrations 2021 with the participation of a large number of falconers.
Qatar Live 2021 will bring top Qatari and Arab performers on December 17, at Doha exhibition and Convention centre for a spectacular musical night.
