‘Fake’ WC accommodation booking will lead to Hayya Card becoming inactive: official

According to a Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) official, fake hotel reservations made by out-of-country soccer fans for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will result in a change in their Hayya Card status.

Thani al-Zarraa, director of the SC Transportation Operations Department, remarked during an appearance on the “Al Majlis” program on the Al Kass Channel: “The Hayya Card status is continually reviewed. One may acquire approval, although this is frequently examined and could become inactive if the holder made a fictitious reservation for lodging. The Hayya Card can be checked at any time and its status can be changed from approved to denied.

The Hayya portal accepts accommodation bookings made on websites other than the Qatar Accommodation Agency (QAA) for fans coming from abroad.
Meanwhile, the official said Qatari buses will transport fans from within Saudi Arabia to the Abu Samra border crossing as part of a special service. The bus station will be located 9km from the border.
