SC meets fans in Argentina, Mexico as build-up to Qatar 2022 continues

The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) met with supporters in Argentina and Mexico to help them finalize their travel plans to Qatar for the first FIFA World Cup in the Middle East and Arab world with less than a month till the big game.

Numerous fans attended events in Buenos Aires and Mexico City, which offered a vital chance to learn about important tournament-related issues like tickets, lodging, the required Hayya Card, entertainment, and transportation.

Among the dignitaries in attendance were H E Mohammed Al Kuwari, Ambassador of Qatar to Mexico, and H E Battal bin Meajeb Al Dosari, Ambassador of Qatar to Argentina.

FIFA World Cup Ambassador Luis Hernandez also attended the fan event in Mexico City.

“These events help to build excitement and answer any questions fans may have ahead of their visit to Qatar,” said Najwa Al Thani, the SC’s Director of Corporate Communications. “It was wonderful to meet fans from both Argentina and Mexico – they are all incredibly excited to visit Qatar and sample the unique World Cup our country will host. We thank the Qatari missions in both countries for their support in organising these events.”

Also present were members of the SC’s Fan Leader Network – a community of 400 fans and influencers from 60 countries. Group members have contributed to tournament planning through fan insight, research, content creation and message amplification, with a number attending milestone events in the lead-up to the World Cup.

Ahsan Mansoor, the SC’s Director of Fan Engagement, remarked, “It was a wonderful joy to meet supporters in Argentina and Mexico with the tournament right around the horizon.”

The fans in these two nations are among the most ardent and dedicated in the entire globe, and we can’t wait to watch them exhibit their devotion to the sport in our magnificent stadiums and entertainment venues.

Fans of both teams are already organizing their match days in the vicinity of Lusail Stadium and Stadium 974 since Argentina and Mexico were placed in Group C. At the 80,000-seat Lusail Stadium on November 26, the nations will square off.
