SC and stakeholders hold simulation exercise as Qatar 2022 preparations continue
A simulation exercise was undertaken in advance of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 by the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) and national stakeholders.
Prior to the competition, which will take place from November 20 to December 18, the exercise was undertaken to test and enhance inter-stakeholder communication, coordination, and operational integration across the nation.
The participants were entrusted with handling a variety of situations, such as large and minor occurrences that might occur during the competition. They participated in telephone conversations, verbal briefings, and got printed materials. The goal was to create a realistic simulation of an average match day.
The objectives of the exercise were to practice joint coordination across the tactical-strategic environment, confirm the routine information flow, including issue escalation, processes and thresholds, understand common and agreed event plans, and establish clear roles and responsibilities. The simulation will be followed by a full debrief for relevant stakeholders.
“We are now in the final stages of preparation for the biggest athletic event ever to be staged in our country and region,” stated Eng. Yasir Al Jamal, Director General, SC. This activity aims to help participants shift their perspective from one of planning to one of operations. As the tournament approaches, we appreciate the support of our esteemed stakeholders for this effort.
