Sudan commends Qatar’s support to flood victims
Sudan applauded Qatar’s prompt action in delivering relief to those impacted by the recent floods that struck the country. The Supreme Committee for Humanitarian Emergencies in Sudan thanked everyone who responded quickly and offered assistance to those impacted by the rain and floods during a meeting held on Sunday, notably brotherly and friendly nations like the State of Qatar.
The Committee praised Qatar for the important role it played in helping Sudan overcome obstacles, achieve humanitarian stability, and control the effects of flooding and rain. Dr. Graham Abdel Qader, the Sudanese Minister of Culture and Information and the committee’s official spokesman, stated that Qatar provided more than 60 tonnes of relief by airlift and stood with the Sudanese people to overcome their crises, confront their bad impacts, and find answers. In Sudan, the rainy season, which has its peak in August and September and lasts through October, causes significant property damage as well as heavy casualties. (QNA)
