Sudanese official hails Qatar’s aid for flood victims
The urgent relief aid given by the state of Qatar to individuals impacted by the consequences of floods and torrential rains that battered the state was hailed by the governor of Kassala State in eastern Sudan, Khojaly Hamad Abdalla.
Whenever there is an urgent call for support for their brothers in Sudan, the State of Qatar promptly responds to this call, including its permanent presence as is the case these days to provide the affected people with relief aids, he continued, pointing out that Qatar’s assistance in Sudan stands witness to the Qatari unwavering support. He stressed that Qatar is working hard to promote Sudan’s stability and that the Sudanese people much appreciate this.
The convoy of Qatari aid, which was launched yesterday for the benefit of those affected by floods in Kassala city, eastern Sudan, includes approximately 82 tonnes of food, as well as 300 shelter vents, which will be distributed to the flood-affected villages by Qatar Charity’s technical teams and the Qatar Red Crescent Society. This was confirmed by H E Abdulrahman bin Ali Al Kubaisi, the ambassador of Qatar to Sudan. His Excellency emphasized the value of continuing to provide the brothers in Sudan with Qatari assistance in a variety of areas.
