New academic year sees highest enrolment at Carnegie Mellon Qatar
The most students ever registered at Carnegie Mellon Institution in Qatar (CMU-Q), a university that partners with the Qatar Foundation. At CMU-Q, there are 467 students enrolled from 60 different countries for the 2022–23 academic year.
Michael Trick, dean of CMU-Q, said, “We have a great partner in Qatar Foundation, who helps make a Carnegie Mellon education in Qatar accessible for smart and aspirational students from Qatar and around the world.
119 students who will be starting their studies in one of the following four programs make up the incoming class: biological sciences, business administration, computer science, or information systems.
Once again having in-person classes, Trick has observed a palpable buzz at CMU-Q. “I am thrilled to see the passion and dedication to learning among this, our largest student body ever. This year, I want to wish every student a good and rewarding university experience.
Only 41 students in two programs of study were enrolled when CMU-Q first opened its doors in 2004. With 15 graduating batches, there are now more than 1,100 alumni overall.
