Dubai catches World Cup fever as it prepares ‘fan zones’ for Qatar 2022
As the Qatar World Cup draws near, regional towns like Dubai are preparing opulent fan zones to provide traveling spectators with an unforgettable experience.
The Football Park was introduced by Dubai’s International Financial Center (DIFC), where guests can watch live games while dining at Michelin-starred establishments.
A concierge, a chauffeur-drive service, and the opportunity to watch the games with a famous person or ex-football player will also be available to guests of the luxurious establishment.
The first World Cup to be held in the Middle East is expected to draw both local and foreign football enthusiasts, therefore Art Dubai Group is planning a “on-field experience.”
The chief executive of DIFC Property Management, Saleh Al-Akrabi, guarantees that the venues will host a spectacular event for Qatar’s World Cup celebration.
“We are thrilled to offer visitors and corporate guests an opportunity to experience a really unique and premium manner to watch and be a part of the world’s biggest football tournament through this event,” said Al-Akrabi.
The Football Park tickets go on sale on September 15.
The public spaces in the emirates will show World Cup games and offer a variety of fan-friendly activities.
Shuttle flights to Doha
Up to 30 flydubai flights will take off to the 64-game sporting event on a daily basis.
Additional airlines are purchasing extra slots to shuttle fans, which will significantly boost Dubai International Airport, as the CEO of Dubai Airports, Paul Griffiths, has stated.
“We’ve actually seen a huge amounts of demand at DWC for slot filings for airlines wanting to operate a shuttle service,” he said. I think the city has a lot to offer and a lot to gain from the World Cup.”
This comes years after the Covid-19 pandemic obliterated much of airline industry, with $168 billion in losses for 2020, as per a recently published report.
