Katara presents a lecture to promote public diplomacy

The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gave a presentation on “Economic Diplomacy” yesterday at the Cultural Village Foundation in Katara, attended by academics, interested parties, and students.

In order to advance national economic goals, private sector interests, and public national interests, the lecture discussed the role of the economics in public diplomacy as a new dimension.

In addition, it reviews a wide range of topics, including the methods and ideas of public diplomacy and how they relate to soft power, the role of governments in civil society, the functions of economic diplomacy, the impact of Qatari economic diplomacy, and the relationship between economic diplomacy and sports.

Eng. Darwish Ahmed Al Shaibani, CEO of the Katara Centre for Public Diplomacy and Secretary-General of the International Public Diplomacy Network, emphasized the crucial role that economic diplomacy plays in fostering bonds between peoples and nations.

 

He pointed out that Qatar is one of the well-known nations with notable successes in economic diplomacy, which is one of the most crucial ways to advance and spread the benefits of economic and social growth and also helps to establish a solid foundation. create a force of influence and appeal on the global stage, while developing and expanding diplomatic ties and fostering partnerships between nations and peoples.

Dr. Wael Shadid, the lecturer, asserted that public diplomacy plays a significant role in the world and noted that Qatar is a pioneer in the sector and has created a unique product.

He went on to say that the lecture attempted to focus on economics as one of the most crucial aspects of public diplomacy. He expressed his hope that the Katara Centre for Public Diplomacy will soon be the launchpad for notable initiatives in the field of public diplomacy, emphasizing that these initiatives will have distinct regional and international dimensions.

For giving him the chance to introduce public diplomacy in general and economic diplomacy in particular, the lecturer thanked the International Public Diplomacy Network and Katara Centre for Public Diplomacy.
