Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium
The Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium is located in the city of Al Rayyan. It is named after the Emir of Qatar, Ahmad Bin Ali Al Thani who ruled from 1960-1972. The stadium was built on the site of the old venue (which was also called Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium) with many of the materials from the demolished venue used in the new project. The stadium’s most conspicuous feature is a shining façade, made up of patterns that show case different features of the country such as the beauty of the desert, significance of family, unique flora and fauna, local and international trade.
The Ahmad Bin Ali stadium designed by Ramboll, was inaugurated on 18 December 2020 when it hosted the 48th Amir Cup final. Similar to most of the other Qatar stadiums, the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium also has the capacity of 40,000 seats. It hosted three matches during the FIFA Club World Cup Qatar 2020 in February 2020 and in .Qatar 2022, would stage seven matches up to the round of 16 stage.
