Driving from Doha via Al Khor Road using Waze or Google Maps, Al Farkiah Family Beach is approximately 55 kilometers and 45 minutes travel. The beach is about 5 minutes away from the Al Bayt Stadium. Besides GPS, there are many directional signs that you’ll see along the way.

Besides the many helpful directional signs, one more great thing is that you don’t need a 4×4 vehicle to reach the place as the road is smooth all the way to the beach gate.

Al Farkiah Family Beach is a fenced area manned by security personnel. You will be asked to show your ‘Green Ehteraz’. The entrance is free.

Upon entry, you will see huge parking spaces on your left and right. You will also be greeted with a reminder to “please keep the beaches clean by dropping litter in the containers provided.” There are many trash bins placed within the gated area.

Children’s play areas

Before you get near the sea, you will first pass by one of the play areas for kids. Do your kids enjoy playing on swings?!

Some play areas have huge canopies to protect children from the heat of the sun, especially during summertime.

Multi-colored playground equipment is scattered throughout the area. Kids will enjoy the slides in different shapes and sizes. There also are swings, see-saws, climbing paths, and more. Enjoy!

Water, stones, shells, and sand

Al Farkiah Beach

Al Farkiah Family Beach is blessed with clear, shallow water that is perfect for swimming and safe for small kids to splash around. But please do take precautions while going into the waters and keep an eye out on the children at all times.

The golden shoreline is a favorite walking pathway for some, however, the sand is coarse with lots of seashells and small stones so, everyone is advised to wear slippers.

Wooden beach umbrellas and benches

From end to end of the shoreline is a lineup of about 50 wooden beach umbrellas. There are benches under each umbrella where visitors can sit while having a good chat with family and friends, reading a book, or just enjoying the sight and sound of the waters!

This spot located at the far right area gives visitors an awesome view of the Purple Island lush mangroves. This wooden umbrella and the shiny benches are waiting for you!

Sand-loving plants and trees

While walking, look down and notice the sand you step on and the variety of tiny plants that are growing in them.

Towering healthy palm trees add tropical feels to the beach.

Picnic tables

You can use these tables for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Parents also stay here to keep an eye on their children as it’s near one of the play areas.

Other things to note
