Qatar unveils three new five-star hotels amid expected tourism boom

According to Qatar Tourism, three brand-new five-star hotels will open in Qatar, the site of the biggest sports event in history.

According to a press release, this year will see the addition of the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach, and Rixos Hotel Doha to Qatar’s expanding list of elite lodgings.

As Qatar’s hospitality industry continues to expand, we are happy to see it, said Berthold Trenkel, Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism.

The exceptional service at our hotels contributes significantly to the overall visitor experience, which in turn helps to expand the tourism sector and diversify Qatar’s economy.

Qatar continues to lure increasing numbers of visitors each month with new hotel, cultural, and retail offerings, as indicated by the current summer season, which is at peak numbers compared to the previous five years.

The state-of-the-art Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach hotel, located in Qatar’s business district, is set to open to the public as early as this month.

The press announcement stated that the hotel’s 278 roomy suites and apartments, which are presently undergoing a soft opening, “give guests a chance to rejuvenate in the finest comfort while enjoying stunning views of the Arabian Gulf Sea.”

The hotel also boasts a contemporary international restaurant, bāzār, and specialty coffee bar, Crema. Its ideal location means it’s just a short drive away from Hamad International Airport and just minutes from the tranquil promenade of the Doha Corniche and some of the country’s iconic museums including the globally renowned Museum of Islamic Art and the expansive National Museum of Qatar.

The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island at The Pearl-Qatar stands on its own island. The hotel offers an oasis experience and will open on October 1.

“With architecture inspired by Andalusian heritage and Arabesque design, the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island will deliver a lifestyle that combines redefined hotel living with convenience and luxury,” the press release notes.

The hotel will feature exquisite culinary spaces including Nar, a Turkish contemporary restaurant, Roberto’s, an award-winning fine dining Italian concept, and Chotto Matte, a unique Japanese-Peruvian fusion, among others.

And last, the October opening of the Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha promises to open up a whole new world of leisurely stays, inventive global cuisines, energetic entertainment, and action-packed activities, all of which are enhanced by a demonstration of Turkish hospitality.

It will be the first time ever that the Middle East will host the biggest sporting event in the world when Qatar hosts the FIFA World Cup in 2022.

The event is expected to draw more than 1.2 million visitors to the Gulf state, and it is believed that the influx of tourists will boost the economies of neighboring countries.
